Workshop with Sandy Silva

The July residency will include two workshops with Sandy Silva held at The Cowles Center in Studio 2B (2nd floor) that are free and open to the public. Dancers and movers (age 18 and older) that are interested in a role in Ms. Silva’s creative process in September should attend; percussively trained dancers and musically inclined movers are especially encouraged to participate. ALL ARE WELCOME, even if you aren't participating in the September residency!  Participants can wear any comfortable clothing and shoes, and please be aware the workshop may move outdoors for part of the time.

About the workshops -

Participants engage in an embodied vocal and movement experience, which is shared through a common walking “pulse” incorporating thematic gestures, movement rhythms and vocalizations. The workshop includes activities for participants of multiple skill levels, using music, dance, and vocals. The result is an embodied meditation in sound and motion.

McKnight Artist Fellows: Solo Concert

SOLO

The result is SOLO, an evening of six world premieres - beautiful, fascinating new works that range in dance styles and present thoughtful and intimate choreographic explorations.
